Get the Crown of Glory !

"… Run like that, that you may win." 1 Corinthians 9.24

Beloved ones,

Imagine for a moment a completely surreal scene : After a football world cup final, the world football leaders simply leave the stadium without giving the winning team any cup or medal.

In view of our contemporaries’ reactions, it is easy to predict the revolt which will manifest itself in the stadium. Not sure that the said leaders could emerge unharmed from the sports arena. But I would especially like to stress on the effect of surprise and the feelings of frustration and extreme disappointment that will invade the "winner" team. What motivates these states of mind is that they struggled and "won" !

The table above is quite similar to what will happen at the coming of Christ since we read in the Bible : "Many will tell me in that day, ’Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works ?. Then I will tell them, ’I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity." Matthew 7.22-23.

Such a situation must necessarily have a reason, since we know that God is neither ungrateful nor unfair. And this reason is found in verse 21 of the same Matthew 7 "Not everyone who says to me, ’Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven ; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

The problem here is that those who are going to face with such reason are indeed in the fold of the Lord and appear, in the human sight, as those who are most connected to God in view of the miracles they have had to perform. The saddest thing in this account is that they were convinced that they would be accepted from the Lord. Hence only one question : How could they be so deceived throughout their journey ?

This question really deserves to be dwelt on because the risk incurred is eternal destruction. I would therefore like to invite each reader to share their answers to this crucial question so that none of us may come to discover on the last day that the enjoyment of eternal happiness with Christ will not be his share.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Good meditation and good week under the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
