WHY GOD IS OFTEN SILENT ABOUT PROCESSES

“I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great ; and thou shalt be a blessing” Genesis 12:2

Brethren, Sisters,

During our earthly journey, there are moments when our heads are full of questions, especially when we go through situations the psalmist likened to walking through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). In such moments, if we know nothing about what God has in store for us, destiny wise, there is very little comfort, a sort of tiny hope that emerges for us from asking those questions. Now, imagine that you are in the journey of life, heading to somewhere or to something you have very distinctly heard God ask you to go/do and yet, you still face huge challenges, those that are likely to quench your determination. In such circumstances, not all Christians understand why God can still allow challenges to surface while they are doing his will.

Actually, what God generally does is to give a person a vision of the promise and hide the process. He does so because, as the Omniscient God, he knows that by the time the person is more aware of the process and the challenges lying ahead, there are chances (s)he might give up.

Look at the case of Abraham. God promised to bless him, to make his name great and to make him a blessing but he told him nothing about what it would take him to get there. Therefore, Abraham knew the destination but little did he know about the process, the way. By the time Sarah said in Genesis 21:7 “Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck ? for I have born him a son in his old age”, they have gone through so much.

Likewise, David was anointed to become king after Saul. Though that anointing was the promise of greatness, it took him through a number of situations where he could have died if the protecting hand of God had not been upon him, preserving the anointing and moving him to the fulfilment of his destiny. What about Joseph, through his dreams, he had an idea of his great destiny but saw nothing about the process. And yet, through those trials and adverse situations, God silently worked out his promise.

I don’t know what you are going through now. But if you are on the way to fulfilling your destiny, surely God is with you. Don’t give up !
