"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee (…)." Isaiah 41:10 KJV

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7. Matthew 10:28 says, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell".

The challenges and troubles of today’s world have shaken the foundation of most believers, our faith. We go to church alright; we pray; we fast; we study the word; we take communion and practice most of the things in line with Christianity but still, we live in fear. Our practices have become rituals and lack the potency of God’s power. What are some of the fears of today’s believers? Fear of the unknown future; fear of witches; fear of poverty/lack/want; fear of sickness; fear of death and fear of other evil and tragic incidences that could befall us. Today’s believers lack audacity and are even afraid of creatures like cockroaches, mice and birds attributing their presence in our homes to evil spirits. Luke 10:19 empowers us through his words "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you". This is the power we must crave for and be able to demonstrate as believers. Even when the storms come, we should be still and know that He is God. (Psalm 46:10) “Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Yes, there is evil, and the enemy will always try to bring us down to attack our faith. We are not ignorant of this for His words says in Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." But victory is ours because he says so. Philippians 2:10 says, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth". The verse continues, "And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father". Do not be afraid!!! Let’s fight on!!!
