Martial KOUNOU

“(…) Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh” Genesis 41:8
When a (wo)man is in God’s plan for promotion/favor, He takes time to mold him/her in secret, allows him/her to go through all kinds of challenging situations and mature him/her for a specific day he has appointed to raise him/her.
Unfortunately, in that training and testing process, out of sheer lack of understanding, some would stop trusting in God and would even interpret what is befalling them as evidence that God has abandoned them. Little do they know that like gold, they are being taken through fire for their true value and genuine identity to surface.
In contrast, those who patiently bear that harsh training process and keep trusting in the Lord even when they know little to nothing about where He is taking them, there comes a time when God decides to favor them. “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come” Psalms 102:13.
When that specifically appointed God’s time to raise a person comes, He would create a platform to promote and value the fellow. Look at the case of Joseph. The very day God wanted Joseph’s talent as interpreter of dreams to become the talk of the town, no magician could offer interpretation to Pharaoh’s dream. You think that happened naturally or out of sheer coincidence? Please pause here and analyze it well and it will occur to you that it was a divine orchestration aiming at raising and promoting Joseph for all his years of patiently and unreservedly trusting in God during his years of training.
We see a like pattern with Daniel when the king had a dream and had to put his sorcerers and their families to death for failing to remind him and to interpret the dream. Daniel requested for a few days which he and his friends used to open heavens upon them, and the rest is history.
I would like to encourage someone passing through hard times now. Maybe you had already concluded that God is minding his own business and has already given up on you. Nothing can be farther from the truth. Does a woman forget her suckling child? (Isaiah 49:15). With patience, kindly bear what you are going through without letting anything flinch your faith. God is preparing you for that glorious day when he will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies.
