“God sent me [to Egypt] ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on the earth, and to keep you alive by a great escape. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God….” Genesis 45:7-8
Everyone has a God given dream. This dream is the purpose you were created for and it is unique to promote quality of life for human kind in this world. Your dream is not directed for you only, but every dream is designed, directed and delivered to profit people. Therefore, we must do everything to develop the right character to fulfil our dream.
From the scriptures above, Joseph declared to his brothers that it was God’s plan for him to be in Egypt ahead of them. He knew this was the purpose of his dream but he also knew that he has gone through tough circumstances of the pit, palace disgrace and prison ordeals to finally land him on the citadel of lime light.
At this point, let us look at some interesting character tests Joseph faced to be catapulted to that throne of prominence and save the lives of two big nations (Egypt and Israel). These character tests are common and are universal to everyone in fulfilment of any dream.
Firstly, the Morality test is a test of our character to be patient, courageous and stand for the right thing. Character is not only doing the right things but reacting to wrong things positively. Joseph was tempted to blame his brothers and also give his body in sin with Potiphar’s wife.
Secondly, the Management test is a critical test for you to pay attention in organizing, coordinating, collaborating and taking control of your dream. Joseph was given the responsibility to manage the dream he interpreted.
Thirdly, the Money test is the most demanding test today even though it is an end product test. Your money can build your dream, kill your dream and destroy the dream of other if it is not well managed. If you can’t handle your money, you can’t handle your dream.
In conclusion, God will not give you all the details of your dream. He will take you through these character tests to help you identify your dream. Your dream is in your hand directed by God. Position yourself in the little job and career path you’re pursuing now and believe that God will shot up to the throne of grace and prominence. Your lifestyle is your life store that people will shop from.
