“Call unto me, and I will answer thee (…)” Jeremiah 33:3
A man was married to a woman with whom he had a son. When the boy was about nine, some misunderstanding between his parents led to their separation. The man corrupted the judges and won the custody of the boy and the woman was allowed to only see her child in week-ends. Before she left, the woman advised her son to be prayerful and especially never to eat anything before she prayed on it.
The man brought in another women who did not like the 9-years-old-boy; she started thinking of how best to get rid of him. In the meantime, she got pregnant and delivered a baby boy. While the baby was around 2, she left him at home and also left a poisoned meal for the then 11-years-old boy who went to school. However, before the older boy got home, the younger boy who was playing saw the food and ate it; he died. When the mother came home and discovered that, she told her husband that his boy had killed her son and that, he too should die.
The man, who had just lost a son, vehemently opposed any plan that would result in him wasting the only remaining child. The woman understood that unless she took some steps, her plan would definitely fail. She therefore went to a juju man and turned her husband into a person who would mechanically do anything she asked without arguing.
One night, after midnight, she woke her husband up, asked him to take the son and off they went from Badagri to Lagos. When they reached a bridge, she asked him to stop the car and bring the child out. She ordered him to throw the boy into the river. The boy was crying but his father, who had no will of his own as a result of the baby doll he became, threw the boy. The boy said that he then remembered Jeremiah 33:3 that his Sunday school teacher taught him and he cried out for God’s help.
Miraculously, a hand appeared, held him, prevented him from falling into the water, brought him to the bridge where a car that was passing opened its door for him to enter and he was driven to his father’s house where he arrived before his father. When the daddy came back and opened the door, there came his boy who welcomed him.
Like that boy, call unto God today! He will answer you!
