THE MYSTERY OF TIME

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

Time is a precious resource that God has availed to all human kind equally. We all got 24h a day and yet some manage to achieve more than others. The moment we are born the timer is ticking and the body starts decaying, some may take a longer time than other but eventually we shall transition into eternity. Two times are recorded to us which we do not have control over: the date and time we are born and the date and time we die. But in between the two spectrum is life. This is where you run the good race of faith diligently to win the crow, leaving a legacy behind. The sobering question is would you have used your time efficiently and wisely to achieve all that you are predestined to do?

We have all been sent to this earth to perform a mission within a span of time. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. It is a reminder that at the end of the day when the dust sets, all that matters is your alignment with the calling upon your life; doing God’s will within the time apportioned to you. To waste your time is to waste your life. Use your time like cash. “time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time” Jim Rohn.

This wisdom from Denzel Washington concurs with this message: “Imagine you’re on your deathbed—and standing around your bed are the ghosts representing your unfilled potential. (…) And they’re standing around your bed. Angry. Disappointed. Upset. ‘We came to you because you could have brought us to life,’ they say. ‘And now we go to the grave together.’ So I ask you today: How many ghosts are going to be around your bed when your time comes? You invested a lot in your education. And people invested in you. And let me tell you, the world needs your talents.”

John 9:4 “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work”. While we know that we will not live eternally on earth, are we mindful of running the good race of faith? And when you shall meet the master face to face, will He say “well done good and faithful servant”?
