“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry” Psalm 34:15

In a world that is full of crisis, commotion and so many trials, we tend to lose hope and think ‘God has forgotten us’. God has not forgotten us. Neither has he forsaken us. The Lord is attentive to our cry and our prayers. In 1 Peter 3:12 the Bible says that God listens to our prayer.

This is also emphasized in the book of 2 Chronicles 16:9. The Bible says that Gods’ eyes travel to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is staid in the Lord. God preserves us. Heather Bible says he sends his angels to encamp round those who fear the lord.

The question we may want to ask ourselves is: do we believe? Jesus Christ of Nazareth says, ask what you will and it will be given you (John 15:7). He says if our faith is as small as a mustard seed, we can command the mountain to be moved and it shall be so (Mark 11:23).

All we need is to fear Him, seek Him, love Him with all our heart and obey Him. The blessings of the Lord are upon those who fear Him, trust Him and obey Him. The Bible says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. And his promises are yea and amen. He went on to say in Psalm 37:3 that we should trust the Lord and do good and that we shall surely be fed.

Brethren, if we have gone astray and have lacked faith, let us return to our God, because in returning to Him and in our quietness lies the strength of our Lord. He is not deaf that he could not hear, neither is he blind that he could not see. But His eyes are upon the righteous to protect, preserve and bless them.

One more thing worth mentioning here is that being righteous is not a one-off exercise with a sustainable effect. With the roaring lion wandering and eagerly looking for whom he may devour, the righteous are those who are constantly on their watch and voting every day for holiness without which the Bible says that no one shall see God. (Hebrew 12:14). We should never lose sight of the fact that we have been saved and called to a holy life (2 Timothy 1:9).
