“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” Revelation 21:8
What shall the final fate and future of liars be in God’s wonderful plan for humanity? The Bible attests to it that there will be a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and earth will disappear and the sea will be no more. God will henceforth dwell with men and He would wipe all tears from their eyes; death would be no more and there will be no more mourning, cry and pain for all the first things have disappeared. God will do new things which whoever has overcome will inherit. Nice, isn’t it? And yet there is a “But”, that restrains the list of the heirs as mentioned in our reference.
It has not escaped your knowledge that small caterpillars and flies are the ones that ravage acres of food crops. Likewise, small sins and minor mistakes (as we are in the habit of qualifying them) will lead great men to hell, far from God’s face.
How many citizens nowadays are difficult to recognize on social networks? Should Christ come back now, how many people will fail to enter the everlasting glory, not as a result of adultery, theft, murder but mainly because of lies? Many lie as they breathe. They lie on social networks, share or transfer information from unknown sources and for unknown reasons. They make wrong statements on television and radio, write falsehood in newspapers arrogantly insulting authorities and aged people. They lie to disparage or show shortcoming of others.
With God, there is no “professional lie”, “small lie”; mistruths, exaggeration or attenuation of facts will lead to the lake which burns with fire. Citizens need to be wise on how to deal with a news around which there appears to be some doubt; they should avoid allegedly overheard information or the one of which they know nothing about the sources.
Pupils, students, good ladies of market, intellectuals, civil servants, senior officials and political men, if we are afraid of hell, I beg us, let’s avoid anything deceitful and hostile to peace, solidarity, harmony and friendship among families, peoples and nations.
