RELATIONSHIPS ARE CURRENCIES

“And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents” Genesis 13:5

Beloved brothers and sisters,

Oftentimes, we have that limited view that money is powerful enough to buy/get us anything. Hardly does our mind then grab the truth behind the fact that there are instances in life and destiny where no matter how rich in ordinary currencies one might be, one cannot get certain things.

Beloved ones, do you know that relationships are also currencies and that they can buy anything money can buy and even more? A contemporary respected preacher once said this "If the only thing you have in your life is money, you are very poor; there are realms you get to in life where money becomes like ashes. You will need another currency and relationship is one of those currencies."

Apart from God's hand, what do you think earned Joseph to be called before Pharaoh to interpret the King’s dream? The relationship he nurtured with the king's butler when both met in prison played a major role. Although that butler forgot about him for some time, that relationship ended up paying off. Likewise, Naaman was a respected man in the Syria army and if it were to take money for him to get cured from leprosy, chances are he would have spent as much as possible to become normal. What money could not do, his relationship with a mere servant made happen. What about the centurion who came to Jesus for the healing of his daughter! He was not a broke man, and yet, his money could not solve his problem. He needed another kind of currency, relationships.

Coming back to our memory verse, have you noticed how Lot got blessed because of his connection with Abraham?

In this wicked world, you cannot think success without thinking relationship and connection because most times answers to prayers come when men come. In fact, God answers prayers not only by sending power; he answers prayers by sending men. All blessings come from God to men through men!

How do you treat the people you meet or, the ones God has put under your leadership? Do you treat them with respect or rather look down on them? Please, note that people may forget what you tell them, but they never forget how you make them feel. When God gives you the grace to have destiny helpers, do you sincerely honor them, or do you trivialize the relationship? May God grant us wisdom to prize relationship.
