« Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. » 1 John 3.1
Beloved ones,
In our society, status plays a fundamental role. In one way or another, it determines how you are perceived, how you are treated, and the respect, honor and privilege bestowed to you.
It is easy to see how men and women feel honored to have as their friend the President of the Republic, a world star or the children, the wife or husband of such people. You certainly notice the indifference, if not the scorn, with which our human society considers the man or the woman of modest condition in the eyes of men.
In the midst of the people of God, this attitude frustrates some and nurtures selfishness in others whereas the Bible states in James 2.1 "My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons ".
In fact, should I feel honored beyond measure to be the friend of the President of the Republic or a man of great notoriety? NO. It is rather the one who is in relation with me who must feel privileged. Why? Because I am a child of God, the Creator of heaven and earth, Alpha and Omega.
We are princes and princesses of the King of kings. And this should not lead us to pride or arrogance, but rather to gratitude to God and to seize the responsibility that is ours in our relations whatever they may be.
Instead of allowing ourselves to be engulfed by the notoriety of the one with whom we are in contact, we must rather seek to produce in him the effect of a thirst and the hunger to know God and to submit to His will. Let us never forget that wherever we are we play the role of ambassadors for Christ; and to that end, what will be important to us is not so much the material and temporal advantages that we will be able to draw from this relation as the consciousness that we are on mission for Christ and that perhaps it is the last opportunity for this soul to come (back) to Christ.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, good meditation and good week under the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
