".. The night comes, where no one can work". John 9: 4
- "Hey ooo, she's fallen over here, she's fallen over here, please do something!"
These are exactly the words that passers-by, from the top of a bridge, sent to some fishermen sitting on the edge of their canoe just as the child was heading straight for the bottom of the lake. The latter taking advantage of a moment of inattention of his parents accidentally slipped between the ties of the balustrade of the bridge.
- "You see we have a big catch of fish right now, how are we going to do it?" one of the fishermen shouted to them. - "How much would you pay us if we save it?" added the other.
- "Save her and we'll talk about it ..." said a young lady in an anguishing voice.
- "Let's see ... uh ... this is a very dangerous activity that we will undertake for ..."
- "Whatever you want, please!" furiously twisted an old man, visibly exhausted ...
- "Would you pay at least $ 30 to take or leave?"
- "Excuse me, she drowns, she drowns ... do something ..." begged the young lady ...
To make short, after a few moments of hesitation one of the two fishermen will finally resolve to jump into the water under the look of impatient passersby and, after about two minutes, emerged the body already inanimate of a little girl whom he went to lie on the nearest shore. All attempts to revive her are unsuccessful. It was already too late. She is .., she is dead.
Dear readers, we cannot but be indignant at the conduct of these fishermen. If not, how can they put a price on human life, delay and thus fail to act promptly? Yet the message of this story may be to some of us if we consider how long we have postponed obedience to a call from God. Lives in danger at this moment may await our obedience to be delivered. It may be that our obedience is a deliverance key for someone today and many others later.
Would it be a gift to make to a mission in your village, Christian literature to send, a testimony or a visit to make, etc.? Let's do it now, we may not have another chance, since it's only for men to die once, after which the judgment comes. (Heb 9:27)
Please, do something today!
