"They made a commitment to seek Jehovah, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their souls." 2 chronicles 15: 12”

This verse, in the heart of a wonderful story, indicates the means by which the people of Israel recovered peace and rest after a long period of distress. You may long to sigh after God's true peace and rest, to live the blessing of God in your family or work. You could do this by needing to put your life in order with God to make sure that nothing hinders your blessing.

A first step might be to expose your heart to God and let him scan it. You may come out of this exercise with a list of actions to take with surprise (someone with whom to make peace, an infidelity or a lie to confess, a wrong to repair, a property to return to the owner, a forgiveness to grant). You could discover surprising things that you should confess and give up (covetousness, lying, gossiping, pornography, masturbation ...). "Whoever hides his transgressions does not prosper, but whoever admit them and forsake them obtain mercy "Prov 28: 13." ... that you prosper as prosperous the state of your soul "3 John 1: 2.

On this occasion, you may be interested in going further with God and speaking with him about your "self" or ego and its consequences in your relationship with God and your loved ones. "This is why Scripture says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble" (Jas 4: 6). So let God speak to you about this in a time of recollection and you could discover many things that you have let in where only God is supposed to reign and perhaps full of altars that you have built for your pride and that deserve to be demolished...

You may also discover that you should rather (or more) be grateful to God in many ways rather than being focused on what you have not (yet) gotten. And you will begin to know his peace and rest round about your life just as it is said: "They had sought the Lord willingly, and they had found him, and the LORD gave them rest round about. « 2 chronicles 15: 15
