“Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies. I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting” Isaiah 1:13
Beloved ones,
I humbly wish to speak to you, African, European, American, Asian, and Oceanians, you on whom the Lord’s name is called. It does not matter whether you are from the ruling party or opposition, from the left, the right or the center political party, whether you are member of the ecclesiastic clergy or a business man who many employees report to, you that are entrusted with a fraction of divine power that you have probably converted into the life and death power out of sheer power abuse, I’m begging you to listen to the Lord’s oracles.
You contribute to the building of churches, preparation and holding of conferences, general assemblies and sharing; you partake in the brotherly fellowship and to the Holy Communion in remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ. You are doing well as that is what is expected from Christian. Then despite all your diligences, why should the Lord say he takes no pleasure to your actions, why does he say he cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting?
This is because in a fast changing world, we directly or indirectly participate in the celebration of evil, to annihilation of dignity and human freedom, to humiliation of the orphan, the widow and the poor, to the condemnation of the just against the culprit just for personal, religious or political interests.
The Lord is not happy, his heart bleeds and he holds his anointing when crimes against humanity are common, when thousands of people on earth are malnourished, starved, sick, naked, deprived of clean water or jailed. Some are refugees, exiled and bloodily killed as a result of wars and conflicts.
What then is the meaning of holidays, independence, revolution, freedom, democratic new era, change, re-foundation, new conscience, radical change days or new beginning without liberty, dignity, justice, peace and prosperity?
What is the meaning of religious celebrations like Christmas, Pentecost, Palm, Easter without repentance, love, forgiveness and reconciliation?
Abominations and crimes draw the wrath of the Almighty God and he can neither accept nor honor our meetings, feasts, celebrations, offering and tithes.
Let’s repent and refrain from partaking in fruitless activities of darkness so our celebrations be accepted by God.
Happy week!
