HIDDEN BY GOD

Martial KOUNOU

“For in the time of trouble, he shall hide me in his pavilion. In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me” Psalms 27:5

David was still young when the presence of God started manifesting powerfully in his life. As time unfolded and the Almighty God began to reveal him to his world through the advertisement platform he created for him (killing of Goliath), David’s eminence began to attract to him powerful enemies, including the reigning king of Israel, Saul. In 1 Samual 18 & 19 alone, Saul tried 12 times to kill David and that did not include all the other attempts he made. Somebody even said that if Saul had worked as hard at killing Israel’s enemies as he did David, he would most likely have been a great military leader and king.

David escaped all Saul’s plans, not by his own might, intelligence, or skills but by the preserving hand of the Lord. Otherwise, how can you imagine a mere boy, a simple citizen successfully ‘defeating’ all the attempts from a king who had control over an army of thousands of men with all the weapons of his time? Until and unless God came into such battles, David could never have been spared.

When somebody like that, who has had first-hand experience in how the Almighty can save, now appears and declares that in the time of trouble, God shall hide him in his pavilion and in the secret of his tabernacle, the evidences in his life are strong enough to silence any controversy. In Psalms 31:20 David wrote: “thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues”. Also in Psalms 17:8, he declared in a prayer mood “Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings”.

Whatever you are going through now, please take a minute and sincerely thank the Lord. Thank him for having hidden you; thank him for disappointing the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their evil enterprise against you and your family (Job 5:12). Thank him for making the radars of your enemies unable to locate you, your business, your family. Thank him and ask him to continue hiding you, just like he hid Jesus from Herod’s evil plans.

May the Almighty God himself hide you and your loved ones in the secret of his tabernacle. God bless you!
