“I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2

A man of God once said: “there are no great men; there are only helped men”. This means that you can only rise according as the help of God makes your rising available. John 3:27 says _“a man can receive nothing, except it be given unto him from heaven”_. Psalms 18:29 says: “For by you I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall”. And Philippians 4:13 says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Help is the heritage of all believers provided they know how to access it.

When God wants to help a person, He uses, one, more or all the following three ways:

a. The mercy of God: This goes beyond a sinner asking for pardon. We read in Lamentations 3:22 this: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed because his compassions fail not”. And in Romans 9:15, God told Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion”. The mercy of God is mysteriously powerful.

b. The ministry of men: When God wants to help you, he will introduce men into your life. When Jesus asked the man at the pool of Bethesda why he was in that condition, his answer was “I have no man”, not “I have no ability”. Just that his ability to move was too slow compared to those that were helped or to the demand of healing. This means that men can accelerate our results.

c. The ministry of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is called Helper (John 14:26). Please note that a helper does not take responsibility for your life. He rather gives you assistance and provides an advantage for you.

When we say a man is helped by God, what we literally mean is that this tripartite force is either partly or fully released in the life of the fellow. And please note that God’s help is accessible to the saints. Therefore, when you see men rising, it is not that God isolated people and just decided to lavishly bless them against others. It is just that they have accessed light that by the ability of a man, without help, he cannot go far. Unassisted by this spiritual force, you are not much and don’t weigh much.
