‘‘Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.’’ Ecclesiastes 11:9
A couple of profound truths are clearly obvious about life, and these are that Life is short and Life is full of events. James 4:14, Job 14:1-2, Psalm 39:5. Because life is short and is full of events, some of the happenings of life are good while others are not and what happens to one might not happen to others. The wellington fire incident in Freetown in 2021 left hundreds of people dead while others who were involved did not die. This confirms that life is short, and life is full of events.
I realized in my little observation that from the womb to the tomb everyone passes through 3 stages in life: (1) The choosing age; (2) The changing age; (3) The concluding age. I am going to talk about the choosing age in this part 1.
THE CHOOSING AGE
This is the most active age in life (5-40 years). People in the choosing age are full of choices that can have huge impact on their lives. They do whatever they want without consulting neither God nor man for approval. They think there is more time in this age therefore most of them hate advice and hate being monitored. Some even say that life starts at 40. Here are some facts about the choosing age according to Pastor Alan Carr: (a) 88% of all conversions occur in the choosing age; (b) 80% of choosing age school students who graduate without Jesus will never be saved; (c) Children ages 5-13 have only 32% probability of being saved; (d) 14-18years have only 4% probability of being saved; (e) 18+ have only 6% probability of being saved; (f) The longer you go without Jesus, the lesser your chances of being saved.
Make your choice for Jesus while in your choosing age before it is too late. The choice and sacrifices you make in your choosing age are the most important that will help you in this world and beyond.
Remember!! Don’t burn your candle for the devil and blow the smoke of a wasted life in God’s face.
