“And again I saw under the sun that the reward goes not to him who is quick, or the fruits of war to the strong; and there is no bread for the wise, or wealth for men of learning, or respect for those who have knowledge; but time and chance come to all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11

When a man steps outside the covenant, he is like a man without an umbrella in the rain. His life becomes at risk, to put it mildly.

There were many widows in Zarephath, says the Lord, but only one contacted grace because she was at the right place at the right time!

Many of the breakthroughs we have experienced in life did not come because we were qualified. They didn’t come because we were handsome or beautiful, nor because we were learned or wealthy. They came because of what Solomon calls 'time and chance.' i.e. divine timing and positioning.

A lesson I learned teaching my children about the solar system is that a solar eclipse doesn’t occur by accident. It occurs by time and chance, when the moon comes between the earth and the sun. An eclipse may not reoccur for the next thirty years. For instance, the last total eclipse of the sun visible in US occurred over the state of Hawaii on July 11, 1991. Before then, there was an eclipse occurring over the state of Washington on February 26, 1979.

In essence, divine positioning is such a special event that you must constantly be watchful and sensitive to the spirit about. But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elisha, when the heaven was shut for three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elisha sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow’( Luke 4:24-26). She alone tapped into grace of open heavens because she was rightly positioned. Similarly, there were many corpses in the land, but only one contacted the double portion anointing of grace upon Elisha’s bones because he was at the right place, at the right time. (2 King 13:11)

Beloved, if there is any prayer you can pray today, let it be: “O Lord, let Your mercy position me for my breakthrough!” May you not miss it in Jesus’ name!

Come under the timing of God and remember this, a man outside the covenant is like a ship without a compass.
