“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

In a world that is full of crisis, wickedness, bitterness, malice and depression, the only thing that can keep us going is the grace of God. Many a time we strive to succeed and struggle for our bread when it is the keeper of life that can give us the oil to succeed and thrive in life. That oil that propels us to do good things is grace.

We cannot live a true Christian life without grace. It is the grace of God that gives us strength to overcome the wiles of the enemy. That grace can only be earned when we come to a point of total surrender to Yeshua, when we entirely depend on God for all things. The Bible says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13). Christ in us, is the hope of all glory.

We cannot sin when we have God in us (1 John 3:9). We cannot live according to the standards of this world when he lives in us. For HE and the father are one. He does that which he sees from the father. Therefore, when we abide in him, he abides in us. And when he is in us, our minds and thoughts are made one with him. And so, the ability to do righteousness comes naturally.

What then do we need to do? We need to kill that thing called self. Jesus says in John 12:24-25 that except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto eternal life.

The people of this world will go to their altars to gain power or demonic anointing that makes their word powerful anywhere. They show total dependence on whatever is given to them. Therefore, we should also lean on Jesus for doing his will. That power that enables us to do his will is grace, not the platform to continue to live in sin and ask him for forgiveness.

Brothers and sisters, as we start this new year, let us all repent of our ways and allow God’s power in us to lead us in all good things.
