Daniel MOUSSOUGAN

“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24:
Most recently, I was interested in the behaviour of my last son. He often claims that I specifically ask him questions or speak to him any time I speak with his elder brothers. He often says with a kind smile: ”And me, Daddy?”. It has become his habit to ask the same question so that, one day, I dive in the sound joy we feel to be a source of solution, of a satisfaction for others. He was so happy each time I meet his demand.
I then imagine what should be the feelings of God, our heavenly Father, each time we reach him, through our prayers, to submit to him our needs.
Jesus told his disciples: “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete”
What a joy to notice that we have such a great access to God, so as to have our request satisfied! Our heavenly Father, despite our number, doesn’t mind. He wants us to express our needs. Let’s explore some dimensions of our subject.
Our Father knows our needs (Matthew 6:8) and appreciates them: God knows our needs and can appreciate our requests; He consequently provides an appropriate answer. He gave Solomon, beyond the wisdom the latter requested for, riches, goods and glory, such as no one before him or after him can afford (2 Chronicles 1:11). The request of Solomon touched the heart of God and was satisfied.
Jesus encourages us to address our requests to the Father, in his name: When he was revealed, Christ told us He is the only way that leads to God (John 14:6). So God appreciates all demands through his beloved Son (Matthew 3:17).
Let’s ask with faith and insurance: God encourages us to approach his throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
The purpose of God is that we may be happy, a happiness which will be testified through the perfection of our joy. Thus, caring less about time and circumstances, let’s express our requests to God in the name of his Son Jesus Christ. As our satisfaction provides us joy, so is he available to answer.
Good week.
