“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

Throughout the history of mankind, many people have laid their lives for causes that are dear to them. What then makes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ different from the others?

Once upon a time, God created Man as a steward, an ambassador to whom He entrusted the management of the earth with a precise mission: to dominate over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle all reptiles and insects. Satan will seduce man to sin. This sin will have four direct and lasting consequences:

• Man exchanges the thoughts of God for those of the devil*: Common sense and logic are introduced, nothing wrong with its principles as long as they do not override the word of God and the direction of his spirit.

• The birth of religion*: Religion is an act of worship to God without God. Karl Max rightly said that _“religion is the opium of the people”_.

• The hold on the systems and kingdoms of the world: Now, the devil has control over the 7 mountains of influence: family, religion, education, media, entertainment, business, and government.

• The clash of kingdoms: Throughout the Bible, the kingdoms of God and the devil are in constant conflict, although the kingdom of God has recorded commendable results, these were not complete.

The diabolical master plan was a success; no human being could break this fortress, no one could pay this price, and God had to intervene to save humanity. Why did Jesus have to die and resurrect:

• Bring back the kingdom of God: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32)

• Replicate God’s temple in us: Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? (1 Cor. 3:16)

• Restore the dominion back to man: “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” (Math 18:11). This verse is not talking about the lost soul but the lost dominion.

• Save us to be a blessing to others: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. (Acts 10: 38)

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have given us more than the forgiveness of sins, it has overturned all of human history and the hold of the kingdom of darkness
