"Your eyes saw my unformed body ; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Psalms 139 : 16

In this day and age, a great confusion concerning destiny has hit the world including the body of Christ. There seems to be an increasing unawareness of who we truly are and what we are called to be. Christians ponder at times : "Why have we been sent to this earth ? What is our contribution to the great commission ? Is there something more to this life ?" Some end going through life frustrated and wondering what’s next.

Fortunately, the Bible did not leave us in the dark ; there is a provision we can tap into : The Holy Spirit. The psalmist reminds us that God has his eyes set on us before our conception. No matter the circumstance around your conception and your birth, God has a plan for you. Do not look at men but rather set your gaze on him. Do not listen to your entourage but connect to the one and only giver of life and mission.

The wisdom of the world would want that we look around and simply fit into the system. However, remember that God has a book in which all our days have been ordained. It was never intended for man to live without God, therefore we understand that every single day matters ; He has a provision, a training and a mission assigned to us. Similarly, just like a manufacturer, God has our manual of operation. We can better understand who we truly are if we draw near to him.

When we purchase a new gadget, we spend time to understand how it works so as to optimize its use ; those who do not can only marvel at others when they bring the same gadget to its full potential. If only we can spend time in God’s presence and ask him to reveal to us who we truly are, He is able to do so, He is waiting for us. We, however can be busy with the vicissitudes of life ; at times tossed in all directions trying to figure it out by our own might. It was never intended to be so.

Great men of God had had an encounter with him and that was the turning point in their lives. Mark Twain said : "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why”. It is high time to discover your purpose.
